Brown liquor and cigarettes

I happen to know there's a song in there somewhere.

Play that bluesy trumpet, cowboy.

Connie Frambert - Photo

All right, until I get my old computer hooked up, here is a photograph of a pencil drawing of mine from several years ago. Her name is Connie Frambert, and she is a central character in Life on Arth.

Life on Arth

All these years, I've never tried Blogger. I used to have WordPress installed on my own domain; I miss it. I have a wordpress.com blog, which I rarely use. It only makes me miss my old blog more.

So just now I decided to start a blog here, to see how it goes. Since I'm here, I guess I'll spin off quickly something that's on my mind. I really am not digging the socio-integration of the Web lately. I can't have a Gmail address under one name and a Blogger account in another, apparently; not that I've tried. I've tried evading this type of thing a time or two in the past, and although I'm not saying it isn't possible, it was frustrating and a big waste of time. Ditto Facebook; I'm not so sure I'm glad I signed up for FB. Sometimes things I do wind up there and I never meant for them to. I don't like being tracked and followed around; I don't like looking for, say, a toner cartridge and then noticing that every other ad I'm looking at (I admit I rarely use ad blockers) is for printer ink and cartridges; I don't like that I look up word definitions and synonyms and suddenly every third ad wants to know "are you writing a book???!!!!" Sorry for all the punctuation, just venting my annoyance. Anyway, I'm not surprised by all this, but it is kind of depressing.

Anywho, that's not the kind of thing I expect to focus on here, if I focus on anything. There is a reason I've chosen Life on Arth as my blog title. We'll see how it goes.
